Cardinham is one of the largest parishes in Cornwall. Its sparse population is scattered in farms, houses and cottages around the parish and clustered around the church of St. Meubred and the small village on the edge of Bodmin Moor, to the north east of Bodmin town in Cornwall.
The Cardinham & District Gardening Club was founded in 1989 by Margaret Bate, Libby Pidcock and Loveday Sutton, three residents of Cardinham with a common interest in gardening and gardens. All three continue as active members of the Club.
From the outset the aim of the club was to provide a supportive and informative environment for fellow gardeners and those who consider their gardening a leisure pursuit, rather than a forum for competitive vegetable

Cornwall is blessed with a temperate climate, but the effect of Bodmin Moor is that Cardinham has its fair share of wind and rain and occasionally succumbs to frost in winter. This all adds to the challenge and pleasure of gardening on the edge of Bodmin Moor, and the local gardens are a delight at any time of the year.
The Club now has around 70 members. Annual subscriptions are £6.50 for an individual and £12 for a couple. New members and guests are always welcome to join us at any of the meetings or visits, just contact any member of the committee or come along to one of our meetings.
